Jim Harrer
Co-Founder
In 1986 Jim Harrer founded Mustang Software to develop a line of modem communication software. In 1994 Jim took that company public with a $25m valuation (NASDAQ:MSTG), only to be crushed by the World Wide Web in 1996. Left for dead, Jim reinvent the company. In 1997 Mustang released an email response management system called Mustang Message Center. This product handled email inbound email to generic mailboxes (sales@, support@) for companies like Nordstrom, Dow Jones, Carnival Cruise Lines, and others. In 2000 the company was acquired for approx. $290 million.
In 2001 Jim assisted a young Internet Professional Services company, Web Associates, perform a turnaround. As their CEO, Jim streamlined operations, consolidated locations and improved sales processes, billing and time management.
In 2002 Jim lead a turnaround for Starbase Corp. (NASDAQ:SBAS). Starbase was a 300 person, $40m+ sales, with offices around the globe. They needed a leader with fiscal discipline, process driven with the ability to lead and make tough decisions. Starbase was cleaned up and sold to Borland in early 2003.
In 2005, Jim came up with the concept of EventMingle.com. This is the first event-based social networking application designed to help event participants meet online “prior” to the event. Why? Imagine attendees, speakers, exhibitors, editors all arriving to an event and the first thing they’re doing is meeting with contacts they made, online, prior to the event starting.
Jim is a seasoned Executive with a proven track record.
