Mr. Davis Deadman is a Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager, and has been involved with overseeing various real estate investments at the firm since 1998. Highland Capital’s real estate investments over the last decade have taken several forms including senior secured debt, whole loans, B-notes, mezzanine loans, and CMBS. Since joining Highland Capital, Davis Deadman has focused his investment activity on various commercial real estate product types, including but not limited to office, retail, lodging, industrial and residential. Prior to joining Highland Capital, Davis Deadman was an Investment Officer at Mutual Benefit Life from 1993 to 1998. He managed portfolio sales and the workout/restructure of over $200 million in loans collateralized by Southeastern U.S. commercial real estate including apartments, shopping centers and hotels, and office buildings. Prior to joining Mutual Benefit Life, he worked as an Assistant Vice President responsible for originating commercial real estate loans for both a regional bank and a national credit company. Having received a BA in Finance from Texas A&M University and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from Southern Methodist University, Mr. Davis Deadman has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
