  Prior to the commencement of BizBid.com.au, Australian small business owners had limited options for purchasing or selling commercial equipment. Setting up a business often involved the cost of dealing with new equipment manufacturers or the high risk associated with buying at online auction. Early 2007, Danny Hile, a Masters student at University of Western Sydney began planning a new online auction site with a view to solving these common problems. In July 2007, BizBid.com.au was launched. Biz Bid now boasts specific business-to-business categories and security risk management other auction sites are yet to match.
