Company Description
The agency was founded in 1996 by Lynda Pearson and Millie Olson.
They named it Amazon for reasons that are apparent when they enter a room. And because Olson & Pearson sounded like a Swedish vaudeville team.
The agency quickly won assignments from Canon, Wells Fargo, and Dudley Perkins Harley-Davidson. Procter & Gamble, Wells Fargo, and Philips Electronics bent the rules to hire “a small, sophisticated agency.”
The Publicis Groupe was sufficiently impressed to take a minority share in 2002, giving Amazon clients access to its enormous marketing resources.
The agency is adept at finding lasting strategic and creative ideas, and surprising audiences with wit, truth and optimism.
Amazons now fill a floor of a sunny converted warehouse in San Francisco.
Contrary to rumor, not all are six feet tall. Or female.
