Steel tanks which have dish or cone bottoms may be designed with steel leg supports which are permanently attached to the tank structure. The tank shown here is laying on it's side on a shipping trailer. With this design the tank may be fully drained for cleaning or maintenance. As an alternative to legs, a "skirt" may be used instead, which encloses the area between the dish or cone bottom and the tank pad. A skirted tank appears the same as a flat bottom tank but incorporates a dish or cone bottom inside.
