JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Manage the manufacturing/industrial engineering functions for the fire suppression products at the Marinette operation. Supervise 8 direct reports. This includes (1) IE, (5) ME's, (1) Tool designer, and (1) Engineering Administrative Assistant.

* Provide associates with work assignments, guidance and support.
* Evaluate associate performance and review as required.
* Support production needs in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
* Drive & facilitate training and development of manufacturing methodologies and technologies, including the application of Lean techniques, 5S, Kaizan events, and Six Sigma tools.
* Support continuous improvement projects as well as cost reduction efforts and goals.
* Prepare & manage department budgets.
* Support plant shutdowns and preventive maintenance schedules.
* Prepare and implement capital plans and manage selection and justification of capital equipment.
* Ensure capital projects are completed on-time and within budget.
* Manage both internal and external production tooling.
* Manage routings and IE functions as required.
* Implement new manufacturing technology and automation projects.
* Assist environmental related projects and efforts.
* Support and implementation of ergonomic and safety efforts
* Support new product introductions and redesigns.
* Participate in supervisory and management meetings.
* Ensure appropriate metrics are maintained and in place for team performance.

Experience:
* B.S. degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent* 5+ years of Manufacturing/Industrial engineering experience. * Related management experience required.* Experience with automation equipment such as robots, servos, PLC's, etc.* Experience with welding, metal forming, and pressure vessels.* Experience with painting, leak testing and assembly equipment necessary.* Experience with chemical processing would be a plus.* Six Sigma certification a plus.* Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.* Should have a high sense of urgency and pro-active approach to problem solving.
