PR.com)-- In July of 2008, noted MRI safety expert, Dr. Emanuel Kanal, gave a presentation to the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) annual meeting on the state of MRI safety. A key element in Dr. Kanal's presentation was his recommendation of the use of ferromagnetic detectors for MRI patient pre-screening, including his own experience with the Mednovus SAFESCAN(R) Target Scanner(TM).

Dr. Kanal is Professor of Radiology and Neuroradiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where he is also the Director of Magnetic Resonance Services. UPMC recently purchased their 18th Mednovus ferromagnetic detector.
