Urban League's Community Business Breakfast to be Held in Conjunction with the Black Business Weekend on September 20

PR.com)-- The goal of the 14th annual San Diego Black Business Weekend is to create, enhance, and preserve successful interactions with, economic, legislative, and social systems, as well as the environment. A view of business and community that takes into account the links between the economy, the environment and the society will insure your success and the success of future generations. The San Diego Black Business Weekend is hosted by the San Diego Urban Economic Corporation.
Friday, September 19th Morning Business Development Session speakers include: Arman Walker, President of Bedford Commercial Capital and previous President of OneUnited Bank. Lanz Alexander is a modern day “Renaissance Man”. Business owner, college professor, movie producer, independent record company executive and establishing two manufacturing plants in Baja California-Norte are part of Mr. Alexander’s distinguished career. The City of San Diego will also be on hand. Topics will include : Working Capital, International Business Opportunities, Doing Business with the City of San Diego .
Their keynote luncheon speaker is Dr. E. Lance McCarthy a nationally recognized economist and investment advisor, with a specialty in Urban Development. Dr. McCarthy is currently the President of the Orlando Urban League.
Their afternoon session is designed to deliver relevant information concerning Urban Communities and the new Ecology Revolution with a focus on AB32. A panel of speakers led by VirgilL Welsh, Special Assistant to the Chair California Air Resource Board will also include Dr. Wilma J. Wooten, M.D. - Health Officer for the County of San Diego, among others, will be available for a Q&A by community stakeholders.
Friday culminates with a Legislative Business Mixer, designed to network with our political dignitaries in a relaxed environment, hosted by the National Black Contractors Association.
Saturday, September 20th begins with a Community Breakfast, hosted by the Urban League of San Diego County, a lender specific ( WAMU) “Keep the Keys” Mortgage Seminar and ending in a business and community network extravaganza, “JaZz in P!NK”, a collective of female jazz artists, led by keyboardist Gail Jhonson.
