PR.com)-- The final deadline for submissions to the 2008 Gotham Screen Film Festival and Screenplay Contest is approaching fast. Submissions close in less than a week, on September 23 (extended submissions will still be possible through withoutabox.com). The festival will take place at the Tribeca Cinemas in downtown Manhattan, from October 31st thru November 1st.
The line-up for this years festival, chosen from a bumper crop of promising films from around the world, will be announced in the coming days.

Set up by a group of Gotham based producers and productions companies, the Gotham Screen screenplay contest is specifically targeted at up and coming writers who don't have agency or management representation yet but would otherwise have the talent and craft to make it in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
The contest comes new this year with a $2,500 cash prize for the winning screenplay, and excerpts from selected entries will be preformed live at a staged reading. Gotham Screen hopes to find writers who are serious about their craft and ready to work with producers in further developing their screenplays and stories.
