The winning photo was chosen by site members from a total of ten nominated photographs with over 20% of the votes, beating out the runner-up by only 1 vote.
Mike Roberts won the latest photograph of the month contest with a photo titled Morning Tides. The winning photo depicted steaming tides washing up on the molten rock shores of Maui with the island of Molokai in the background. This was the first Photograph of the Month award received by Mike Roberts. For winning the PhotographyCorner.com October 2008 Photograph of the Month, Mike was awarded a $100 gift certificate to Amazon.com and some PhotographyCorner.com merchandise.
