PR.com)-- At the Toastmasters Humourous contest held at Ernst & Young Toastmasters Club on 3 October, Peninsula Toastmasters Club was presented with the Spirit Award for Outstanding Attendance. The award, presented by Area Governor Evadne Kortje, recognizes Toastmasters clubs that are contribute to the Toastmasters mission "Making effective communication a worldwide reality".
Club President, Craig Strachan, says that he is excited to receive the award, and he is very pleased to see such strong attendance at the contest "Our founder, Ralph Smedley, said that people learn in moments of fun", he said. "Having good attendance at meetings ensures that our meetings are fun, which creates a positive learning environment".
The contest was won by Lloyd Dicks from Ernst and Young Toastmasters Club. Lloyd went on to speak at the Western Cape Finals.
Peninsula Toastmasters club started in 1980, and has been teaching communication and leadership to the Cape Town community since then. They currently meet monthly at Tafelberg Tavern, Gardens, Cape Town.
