PR.com)-- Information Society, the synth-pop legends, from the late 1980s and early 1990s, announce their first West Coast concert in over ten years. The band will perform in Portland, Oregon, at the Crystal Ballroom on Saturday, July 29, 2006.
In 1986, Information Society released the song “Running,” which became an enduring club classic, firmly establishing Information Society among the godfathers of Electro.
Since then, Information Society has had numerous Top Ten and Top Forty hits, including the number one smash “What’s On Your Mind (Pure Energy),” and more than 10 appearances in Billboard’s Top Ten dance charts including “Walking Away,” “Think,” and “Peace and Love, Inc.”
"It really seemed like the right time to bring some authentic songwriting back to electronic music, and to show the people how to rock the synthesizers, INSOC style,” said Paul Robb, member of the band.
With Gold and Platinum records around the world under their belts, members of Information Society have also focused on projects as diverse as film soundtracks, game music, and music for television.
Responding to fan requests from every corner of the globe, Paul Robb, the mastermind behind Information Society has returned with a new record, “Synthesizer,” set to be released the summer of 2006. Robb has reestablished that Information Society is one of the originators of electronic dance music by making an innovative record that connects the dots between 80s new wave, 90s freestyle, and contemporary electro.
