Dr. Alan Nasar of Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute Turns Girl’s Cast Into a Fashion Statement in Freehold, NJ

Freehold, New Jersey orthopedic surgeon Alan S. Nasar, MD, turns a young girl’s broken arm into a fashion statement to cheer her up.

Freehold, NJ, February 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- When six-year-old Emily Cavallaro of Freehold, New Jersey was treated at the CentraState Pediatric ER for a broken arm, she was very upset and sad. Dr. Alan Nasar, the orthopedic physician who treated Emily and the father of four young children himself, found a way to bring the sparkle back in Emily’s eyes. He put glitter on her cast.

Dr. Nasar, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute of Freehold, New Jersey, says, “No matter how old or young you are, it’s very upsetting to fracture a bone. I kept thinking about my own children and what might cheer them up.”

Sue Cavallaro, Emily’s mom, says that Emily’s glittery cast definitely put the sparkle back in Emily’s eyes. “Nobody has ever seen a glittery cast before and it has been a big hit.”
