PR.com)-- SanKritiLaya, the budding Silicon Valley non-profit organization dedicated to the recognition & advancement of Classical finearts (Music & Dance) talent, in the US and around the world, through invited concert engagements to North America, have announced their Fall 2009 schedule.
The renowned Hyderabad Brothers feature in the vocal concert series.
The Hyderabad Brothers, Seshachary and Raghavachary are known for their
rich repertoire and strict adherence to the traditional style of rendering. They complement each other in knowledge and have voices that blend. Their phenomenal success is due to their grip over Shruthi (microtones), Laya (involvement), and Sahithya Bhava (meaningful rendition), in addition to the rich and varied repertoire they have.
The Brothers are accompanied by the young star violinist Nagai Sriram &
Kalaimamani J Vaidhyanathan, the veteran Mridangist.
Sankritilaya's first instrumental concert series features RK Shriramkumar, on his own maiden solo US tour; "a happy coincidence" says SanKritiLaya's
founder-member Mani Subramaniyan.
Shriram, as he is affectionately known, RKS is the grandson of the veteran violinist Sangitha Kalaratna R.K.Venkatarama Sasthri. Venkatarama Shastri belongs to the Rudhrapatnam family of musicians that has a glorious musical tradition. Shriramkumar initially trained under Mrs. Savithri Satyamurthy and followed this with advanced study under his grandfather and Professor V.V. Subramanyam. He has also had vocal training under Sangeetha Kalanidhi late Shri. D.K. Jayaraman. He reached a high level of proficiency at a very young age and is the recipient of numerous awards. RKS is accompanied on the percussion by Arun Prakash, a top mridangist, and the young and talented Guru Prasad, on the Ghatam.
