GRAPA Announces New Certification Criteria for 2010

Chicago, IL, July 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Due to the success of its Master of Revenue Assurance certification program, The Global Revenue Assurance Professional Association’s (GRAPA) is looking to offer companion certifications to meet demand from its members. In line with that, GRAPA is submitting a set of proposals for approval by its certification committee. The committee’s recommendations will be published as an action plan for the second half of 2009, allowing for the execution of various pilot programs.

Under consideration is a requirement for certified members to maintain their accreditation for each year where a new set of standards is ratified. This would ensure that certified members not just update their competency in revenue assurance on a regular basis, but that they also meet requirements for community participation. The proposal spells out a vision of community-based continuous education that would result from this requirement, eventually leading to a self-sustaining group of expert peers.

In addition to this, the committee will be considering recommendations that an intermediate Bachelor’s certification, as well as an entry level Associates certification, be piloted. This would allow GRAPA members to certify as a Bachelor of Revenue Assurance at the end of 40hrs (5 days) of training, and as an Associate of Revenue Assurance at the end of 24hrs (3 days) of training. It has been proposed that the Associates certification also be awarded to members who participate in a GRAPA User Group© (GUG), where the first day is an intensive introduction to GRAPA’s standards, followed by 2 days of community-based continual education.
