KABC-TV News Co-Anchor Leslie Sykes Emcees Benefit Concert for Music Enrichment Programs

Orange, CA, October 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Leslie Sykes, co-anchor of KABC-TV News, emcees an orchestral concert, Rhapsody of Love, that will benefit local school music programs. The event will take place on Sunday, November 8, from 5- 7 p.m. at the Orange County Arts Pavilion, located at 801 North Main Street in Santa Ana. CA. New Hope Presbyterian Church of Orange, CA, is producing this benefit concert as a fundraiser to help create new music enrichment programs to help fill the void left when school music programs were eliminated or reduced. Rhapsody of Love features the Elevation Orchestra, created and directed by Ryan Cross, a world renowned cellist and bassist, as well as television and film score composer. Cross has commissioned arrangers who have written for Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, and Alicia Keys.

Hollywood actor and singer Keith David will make a special appearance.

“With programming ranging from classical to Motown, spirituals to jazz,” said Pastor Goodjoin, “music lovers will be treated to an evening where instruments and voices blend to create soul-stirring and memorable emotional power.”

The Elevation Orchestra is a group of talented 17 string players and a rhythm section (piano, bass, and drums) whose mission is to uplift the community through musical inspiration. By doing so, it sets out to give children the confidence to dream the dreams they never thought could come true.

New Hope Presbyterian Church, located in Orange, CA ,was established two years ago and is one of 58 churches that make up the Presbytery of Los Ranchos. The organizing pastor of New Hope Presbyterian Church is Rev. Chineta Goodjoin.
