Toronto, Canada, December 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Arctic Circle can be an imposing place. Which is precisely why Neil Johnston and his team decided to ride there this past summer on an ultimate motorcycle comparo test. Along the way, they experienced a side of Canada that few have.

Johnston, Kevin Miklossy and Glenn Simmons rode north from Vancouver to Inuvik, Northwest Territories by way of the infamous Dempster Highway, known as the last great adventure road in Canada. Their mission was to test BMW’s R1200GS Adventure and F800GS and a KTM 990 Adventure against what Mother Nature could throw their way.

Only months before, Johnston had traversed the breadth of the country on an ambitious solo ride. Astride a Ducati Multistrada, he rode from the quaint outports of Newfoundland to big-city bustle on the west coast. His online journal entries colourfully captured the sights and sounds that make this country what it is.

Johnston is a motojournalist and adventure rider based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He’s editor of the popular motorcycle portal One Wheel Drive (www.onewheeldrive.net). The site publishes motorcycle tests, features on travel, product reviews, and the latest motorcycle news.
