The Marsh, a Breeding Ground for New Performance, is Pleased to Announce a Marsh Rising Performance of Ellen Snortland’s "Now That She’s Gone" on January 13, 2010

An ode to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the show is a memoir about a Norwegian-American daughter and her mother. Eleanor Roosevelt, sex, drugs and lutefisk are also thrown in for good measure.

San Francisco, CA, January 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Marsh, a breeding ground for new performance, is pleased to announce a Marsh Rising performance of Ellen Snortland’s “Now That She’s Gone.” An ode to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the show is a memoir about a Norwegian-American daughter and her mother. Eleanor Roosevelt, sex, drugs and lutefisk are also thrown in for good measure. “Now That She’s Gone.” was first produced by EMP Theatricals, LLC, at the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival.

Ellen Snortland has her JD from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and her BA in film and theater from UC Irvine. Currently a ghost-writer, first time book coach writing and self-defense teacher, she is also the author of “Beauty Bites Beast,” featured on Dateline NBC and considered a classic text in the violence prevention field. Her theater career includes acting, directing, designing and producing in Southern California, for both stage and television. A regular columnist for the Pasadena Weekly, and a Huffington Post blogger, she’s a tireless advocate for women’s and girls’ physical safety.
