Nashville Singer-Songwriter Ken Harrell Named Featured Summer 2010 Angel Artist

Clarence, NY, June 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Michelle’s Angels Foundation Inc. (MAF) today announced its fourth designated featured Angel Artist: Ken Harrell of Nashville. Harrell follows singer-songwriters Kim Parent, Nicole Witt and TonJa Rose as a featured musical artist on the foundation’s website. Visitors to the foundation’s website, MichellesAngels.com, will be able to listen to MAF Musical Director and Angel Artist Ken Harrell’s gift of music free of any charges or fees.

Following one of his April performances at the Michelle’s Angels Foundation first Hope Concert held in Elkins, West Virginia, Harrell said, "This is The most important work I can do with my music talent that God gave me. These folks need and really appreciate the soothing and comfort that music provides. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside the Foundation’s giving team of Angel Artists as we attempt to provide love, hope and assistance to those who quietly suffer."

Summer MAF Angel Artist and the organization's Musical Director, Ken Harrell, took the stage at the age of three – singing on TV commercials. He picked up the guitar at the age of 12 and began crafting songs. He attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on a full music scholarship and was destined for a career in music. Nashville has always been Harrell’s power place as a singer-songwriter. Stacie Orrico, Sonya Isaacs and Brian McComas are just a few of the artists to have performed Harrell’s music.

Harrell’s latest CD, "We're All the Same," has received solid reviews. According to Phil Everly, "Ken has a fresh and unique approach to songwriting that attracted me to write with him right off the bat. I know the fans will continue to enjoy Ken’s simple, positive perspective on life." Recently Harrell co-produced a new modern rock band named Fools For Rowan. Currently the band is on a West Coast tour.

MAF Foundation President, Herb Knoll, recalls first meeting Harrell when he performed at the Bluebird Cafe. Just two weeks later Herb’s wife, Michelle, was diagnosed with life-threatening cancer. During her illness, the couple founded Michelle’s Angels Foundation and reached out to support others dealing with similar health crises. Herb contacted Harrell, and said, "My bride needs a song, one to lift her spirits." Without hesitation, Harrell crafted and produced a song titled "Michelle’s Angels." From the debut performance at the Blue Bird Cafe on September 17, 2005, Ken Harrell has been a generous and compassionate cornerstone of the organization. Michelle Knoll passed away March 7, 2008.
