IVF Treatment for Men in India

Nagpur, India, December 09, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Forerunners Healthcare Consultants in India is conducting IVF treatment camp for men in India. The camp is one of its kind as it would explain and counsel them about the latest TSEICSI technique which is a breakthrough in IVF Treatment. The camp would be held from 12th Dec to 18th Dec-06.

IVF treatment in India is gaining popularity because at least one out of every ten couples in India suffers from infertility problems, in which the contribution of the male is nearly 50 per cent. Now every man, no matter what his medical problem, can father a child with his own sperm, according to surgeons in India.

Is there any viable option in India for infertile male patients to father a child? Yes, says an Indian based surgeon, who attains the distinction of being the first medico in India to treat such patients successfully. In India the new treatment is expected to illuminate the lives of many unhappy couples.

The new technique, called TSEICSI (pronounced 'sexy'), is being offered by the Infertility Clinics in India and involves sperm extraction with intracytoplasmic sperm injection. In India it is a technique in which sperm is extracted from the testes of an azoospermic man and injected into the wife's ova. By Indian surgeons it was formerly believed that sperm has to undergo a maturation process before they could fertilise an egg. However now in India, using microinjection, it is possible to fertilise eggs even with testicular sperms.

This technique, first pioneered in Belgium, has now been made available in India with the help of the largest IVF clinic in the UK. For this new technique, called TSEICSI, which is introduced in India, minor surgery has to be carried out by surgeons to extract sperm from the patience’s testes, which will be then injected into each of his wife's eggs.

Of the 24 eggs injected, four fertilize and two two-cell embryos are then replaced into his wife's uterus. The woman then gets pregnant, and this can be confirmed by an ultrasound scan.

This is a major advance in the treatment of male infertility in India and can be made available in India through the Forerunners Healthcare with its largest network of IVF clinics and experts all across India.
