The Business Success Awards, sponsored by the publication with more than 100,000 readers in Spain’s business sector, were presented in Castile and Leon this past May. Among the nominees for this category were Campos Goticos and Martin Berasategui System, both companies involved in Spain’s wine industry.
In 1965, founder Pedro Escudero had a vision to market his location’s native plants. The mountain region near Villablino, a province of Leon in Spain, was home to many flowers and plant varieties with important medicinal properties.
“The idea was to bring value to the area,” says Escudero of the company The Leon Infusions.
By 1994, Escudero embarked on a personal business endeavor, Bio3 Natural Health Products, and today, the company boasts 180 employees and worldwide product distribution to more than 42,000 store locations. With a new pharmaceutical lab created in 2003, Bio3 Natural Health Products has since researched and developed its products based in medicinal plants for alternative health care treatments.
“New developments, new methods and new instruments have allowed us to become familiar with many active ingredients, medicinal plants that we did not know of before,” says Escudero. “The incorporation of a new lab, specifically for the development of this series of products sold worldwide, was and continues to be part of an exciting project.”
With renewed recognition, innovation, asserts Escudero, is no secret.
