Photographer Norm Yip Embraces Online Technology to Market Fine Art Photographs of the Asian Male Collection
Hong Kong, China, August 19, 2010 --(
PR.com)-- Renowned Asian male photographer Norm Yip wants all admirers of The Asian Male, the title to his photography books, to be able to have one of his photographs hanging on their home walls. By implementing photography website technology, Norm's Asian male photography is now available to anyone that has access to a computer.
For many years, Norm's photography could only be seen through his website. Then in 2005 and 2007, Norm made the decision and self-published two photography books, "The Asian Male – 1.AM," and "The Asian Male – 2.AM." These photographs have become a benchmark for Norm's photography style and has influenced Asian men from all over. Norm explains, “It's very encouraging to receive emails from Asian men all expressing their gratitude for putting them in positive light."
When Norm learned that Photoshelter, a website geared to professional photographers, could offer high quality prints to his fans, he immediately saw that his photographs could be in people's homes, and for a very reasonable cost. The way it works is by going into Norm's website, finding the image you like, and then deciding the size of print you want and it's finish. Payments are processed through Paypal and fulfilled through EZ Print. Norm describes his first customer: "Within weeks of implementation, the first order of prints came from a buyer in Japan. It's very exciting to see such a quick response to the art."
About the photographs
The photographs from the Asian Male collection spans from 1999 to 2007, covering a wide array of Asian men from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Germany and the USA. Most of the photography was shot using black and white film, whereby Norm pays careful attention to the subtleties of light and shadow on his models. Norm's photography of the human body and face is influenced by American photographer Herb Ritts. To see the photographs available for prints: http://bit.ly/bd2E3m
