Anchor Loans, Inc.’s Dan Harrington Joins the Poker Hall of Fame

Calabasas, CA, October 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Anchor Loans, Inc. today announced the induction of co-founder Dan Harrington into the World Series of Poker’s (“WSOP”) Poker Hall of Fame for 2010. The WSOP also inducted Erik Seidel, a world class poker player with eight WSOP Bracelets and the founder of FullTiltPoker, one of the largest online poker websites.

The Poker Hall of Fame was established in 1979 and was acquired with the WSOP by Harrah’s Entertainment in 2004. Each November, the Poker Hall of Fame elects new inductees who are honored at a ceremony during the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, NV. Some of the primary considerations for election to the Poker Hall of Fame are to have played poker against acknowledged top competition, played for high stakes, and played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers. Prior to this year, 37 individuals have been named to the Poker Hall of Fame.

Aside from his success as a poker champion, Mr. Harrington is the former chief executive officer and co-founder of Anchor Loans, a position to which he brought more than 20 years of experience in real estate as an investor and a mortgage broker. His other professional experiences include positions as a stock market investor and as a real estate and bankruptcy attorney in which he served as a partner of Boston-based law firm Member & Harrington for over a decade. He retired from Anchor Loans in 2009, but remains a major shareholder.

Mr. Harrington’s other achievements include winning the World Series of Poker, the WPT Legends Championship of Poker, the National Backgammon Championship, the Massachusetts State Chess Championship, and appearing on the cover of Forbes magazine. He has authored the “Harrington on Hold ‘em” series of poker books, which are currently the best selling volumes written on the subject.
