PR.com)-- Baxa Ltd announces that their pharmacy peristaltic filling pump – the Repeater Pump (099E) – tested successfully through 26 gas sterilisation cycles at one cycle per day with hydrogen peroxide vapour. Bioquell (UK) Ltd, manufacturers of the Clarus® hydrogen peroxide gas generator system, performed the tests for Baxa at their Andover laboratory.
The Repeater Pump exhibited no adverse effects on performance or accuracy of operations during the third-party testing. Therefore, the Repeater Pump is suitable for use in environments such as isolators or cleanrooms that are subject to repeated gassing with hydrogen peroxide vapour.
Hydrogen peroxide vapour provides an effective and reproducible sporicidal sterilising method for dealing with a wide range of bacteria, viruses and fungi. Typical gassing frequency in hospital aseptic units is once a week, but this may vary according to application.
The Repeater Pump was the first designed to meet needs specific to the hospital pharmacy.
