Local Business Teams Up with Expert Physicians to Help Michigan Families Affected by Autism

On February 12, 2011-- Michigan-based Health Dimensions Compounding Pharmacy is joining forces with five local experts on biomedical autism treatments for a one day only event that aims to educate those affected by autism on bio-medical options.

Farmington Hills, MI, January 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Families dealing with autism on a daily basis understand the stress – both emotionally and financially – that comes with finding the proper care. Many travel long distances to seek treatment or to find caregivers for their child, unaware of the support network that can be found without leaving Michigan.

Health Dimensions, a Farmington Hills-based compound pharmacy, wants to help make life easier for local families seeking help. Health Dimensions, along with 6 other Michigan-based companies are sponsoring a one-day seminar on February 12th that introduce families to doctors who are part of the Michigan Physicians Autism Network (MAPN). MAPN is a group of Medical and Osteopathic doctors in Michigan who treat autistic patients with biomedical therapies.

“These kids are in a lot of pain and need medical care,” said James Neuenschwander MD, founder of the BioEnergy Medical Center in Ann Arbor and who is one of five doctors that will participate in the seminar. “The reality is that help is closer than they think.”

Neuenschwander, along with four other local medical professionals, will be available at the seminar from 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. in Novi at the Renaissance Baronette Hotel, discussing current biomedical therapies being used to treat autism. Topics of discussion will include food and allergy treatments, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, choosing supplements, gluten-free diets, environmental and genetic influences and much more.

The cost of the seminar is $98, which includes a gourmet gluten-free buffet lunch. Participants will also receive an electronic copy of the day’s notes and will be able to attend a post-conference cocktail and networking session with the physicians.

There are only 250 seats available. Seminar information and registration link may be found at hdrx.com/mapn.

The seminar panelists include:

Mark Leventer, M.D.: A University of Michigan medical school graduate who operates a practice in Grass Lake.
