Montreal, Canada, February 12, 2007 --(
PR.com)-- Valentine's Day isn't just chocolates and candy. This year, it might just be diamond rings and proposals. Valentine's Day has always been a romantic day, but today's wedding planners even have a term for it: "The February Boom."
"Many couples get engaged on Valentine's Day," explains Jasmine Brooks, owner of Weddings by Jasmine, a wedding planning company located in Montreal, QC. "It is a romantic day already and it gives guys that extra little nudge they often need to pop the big question."
There are many romantic ways to say "Marry me," and on Valentine's Day especially, many local businesses may be happy to get in on the phone. For a "public proposal," consider asking a movie theater to air your request before or after the film. Radio stations will also likely be happy to get in on the phone. Coworkers and places of work will, in many cases, also help out a would-be fiance.
The proposal is just half the battle, of course. So you asked her. She said yes. Now what? For many couples, the next step is to hire a wedding planner. A wedding planner can actually save many couples money, time, and headaches, by being able to negotiate contracts, give suggestions, stick to a budget, and give creative ideas for themes, gifts, and decor.
Jasmine Brooks says, "Valentine's Day is also a great time of year to plan a wedding. The theme is an easy one to work with, and it's so romantic."
