Robert Paisola's Western Capital Data Centers Confirm that 28 New Companies Move to Utah- Where Are the Employees?

Utah's Department of Economic Development recruitment efforts have brought 28 companies to the state during 2006 and the first part of fiscal year 2007, Bringing New Unexpected Business to Mycollector.com .

Salt Lake City, UT, February 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) reported Friday during the monthly board meeting that business recruitment efforts have brought 28 companies to the state during 2006 and the first part of fiscal year 2007.

This will result in $3 billion in new wages being paid over 10 years to 8,000 new Utah workers. New business capital investment will exceed $2 billion during the same period, officials said.

"If market conditions were to remain strong over the next 10 years, state tax revenues could grow to over $4 billion, from current economic development initiatives," said Michael Nelson, managing director for the State Recruitment and Incentives.

The Economic Development Tax Increment Funding along with the Industrial Assistance Fund are among the economic development tools the legislature has provided for GOED. Post-performance incentives have allowed the state to induce companies to invest heavily in Utah infrastructure and jobs.

In creating the economic growth, the state has committed $67 million in post-performance tax rebates, which will be returned to the participating companies over the next 10 years.

"On a comparative basis with other states, Utah has been successful at diversifying our industry and job portfolio," Nelson said.

The big question on the minds of State of Utah leaders is how will these companies meet employee generation requirements in Utah's Fast Growing Economy, which is already strapped for labor?

Robert Paisola, the CEO and President, of Utah based Western Capital Financial said, "With the unexpected influx of new businesses into the State of Utah, we have been getting more business that we can handle, Paisola continued, " We have even had to outsource some very lucrative contracts in order to meet the timeline being demanded by the new companies" said Robert Paisola.

During the board meeting, Jason Perry, GOED executive director, reported on several bills being moved forward in the current legislative session. Among those pieces of legislation is Senate Bill 10, called the Rural Fast Track Program.

"SB10 will further promote business and economic development in rural Utah because it allows small companies to apply for incentives to create high paying jobs and build infrastructure," Perry said.

Eligible areas of the state will have populations of less than 30,000 and average household incomes under $60,000.

The Rural Fast Track Program is expected to be implemented pending Governor Huntsmans Signature.
