Sixth Annual Day of Reason

St. Paul, MN, April 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Minnesota Atheists to hold the sixth annual Day of Reason, celebrating the separation of church and state, in the State Capital Rotunda at 12pm on May 5, 2011. The National Day of Reason was instituted as a protest against the National Day of Prayer, established by Congress in 1952, and fixed as the first Thursday in May in 1988. Ms. Bathija joined AU in 2008 where she writes for Church & State magazine, contributes to the blog, “The Wall of Separation,” and educates the media and public on church-state issues. Previously she worked as a reporter for the legal trade publication, The National Law Journal, and practiced law for a civil rights firm in Detroit, MI. Ms. Bathija holds a law degree from Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
