Attorney Ashley Campbell Receives the 2011 UNC School of Law Outstanding Recent Graduate Award

The tenth recipient of the UNC School of Law Outstanding Recent Graduate Award, Attorney Ashley Hufstetler Campbell receives the 2011 award. The prestigious award is given annually to only one alumnus from the past ten years whose achievements have brought credit to the School of Law, the legal profession and society.

Raleigh, NC, October 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Ragsdale Liggett PLLC, is pleased to announce that associate attorney, Ashley Huffstetler Campbell has been named the University of North Carolina School of Law’s 2011 Outstanding Recent Graduate. The prestigious award is given annually to only one alumnus from the past ten years whose achievements have brought credit to the School of Law, the legal profession and society. Ashley exemplifies the high ideals of the profession and has also demonstrated significant accomplishments in the community. The tenth recipient of the award, Ashley earned her Juris Doctor from UNC in 2003.

The UNC Law Alumni Association established the Outstanding Recent Graduate Award in 2002 to formally recognize recent graduates for their achievements. The nomination is a vigorous process where an Awards Committee and Dean discuss the sustained exceptional performance of the individual. Ms. Campbell will be honored at a dinner at the Carolina Club on October 13, 2011 during the Law Alumni Gala weekend.

About Ashley Hufstetler Campbell:
At Ragsdale Liggett, Ashley handles business litigation, accounting malpractice litigation, real estate litigation, appellate advocacy and insurance defense in both North Carolina state and federal courts. She is experienced in handling large, complex cases, often in the North Carolina Business Court. Her practice also involves advising clients regarding e-discovery issues. She represents client interests before the North Carolina General Assembly and various government agencies. She maintains membership in the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Professional Lobbyist Association.

Ashley is a leader in her community. She was awarded the Pro Bono Impact Award by Business Leader Media for her volunteer work with Project Together. Ashley is currently on the Board of Directors of StepUp Ministries, a leading North Carolina non-profit organization that offers incentive-driven job and life skills programs to the homeless or near homeless in Wake County. Until May 2011, Ashley was a member of the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Raleigh, where she focused her efforts on recruiting and mentoring women to be community volunteers. From 2005 to 2008, Ms. Campbell was a member of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Center of Wake County, a shelter and rehabilitation program for homeless women and children.

Ms. Campbell is a recipient of the Triangle Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award which honors the best and brightest of the Triangle’s rising leaders and she was named a Mover and Shaker and a “Leader in the Law” by Business Leader Magazine. In 2009 and 2010, Ashley was named a Rising Star in the legal profession by Thomas Reuters Super Lawyers® Magazine. She was also chosen as one of the “Leaders in the Law” this year by the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly magazine.
