Practice Velocity® Urgent Care EMR Adds Client in 49th State
Belvidere, IL, October 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- With the addition of Fairlight Medical Center in Williston, North Dakota, Practice Velocity, LLC, now serves the medical software needs of urgent care centers and occupational medicine clinics in 49 states. More than 800 urgent care clinics throughout the United States, with the exception of South Dakota, currently use Practice Velocity’s urgent care solutions to serve the needs of their patients.

Fairlight Medical Center will use Practice Velocity’s urgent care EMR software and practice management software in their Williston clinic to serve the more than 14,000 city residents and more than 22,000 county residents. The clinic is located in the ninth largest city in the state and is less than three miles from Sloulin Field International Airport.

“Williston is located in a rural area, so we’re the first walk-in clinic serving the community. Switching from a paper system to Practice Velocity’s EMR will really help us streamline our workflows and allow us to place our focus where it needs to be: on our patients,” said Diana Jaszczak, business director for Fairlight Medical.

The recent oil boom in North Dakota has brought an influx of workers to the area, increasing the community’s need for occupational medicine services. According to Jaszczak, with Fairlight currently performing 35% occupational medicine services, the staff is looking forward to using the robust occupational medicine protocols built in to Practice Velocity’s urgent care EMR to provide better services to their patients.

“We are pleased to work with Fairlight Medical to serve the urgent care needs of the Williston area,” said David Stern, MD, CPC, Practice Velocity CEO. “Urgent care medicine is our passion at Practice Velocity – it’s our specialty. It’s great to be able to extend our services into another state.”

Practice Velocity was founded in 2002 by experienced urgent care physicians who worked together to design software solutions for urgent care centers after discovering there were no solutions that catered to the specific needs of urgent care practices. Less than a decade later, Practice Velocity provides a wide range of services to help urgent care physicians and administrators increase revenues, improve efficiency, and streamline patient flow, including an urgent care-specific electronic medical record (EMR), practice management software, online appointment system, and urgent care billing service.
