Missouri Botanical Garden Partners with SteadyRain in Digital Landscape Redesign

The Missouri Botanical Garden announces its website re-launch with award-winning digital agency, SteadyRain.

Saint Louis, MO, November 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Missouri Botanical Garden, a staple of the international botanical science community and a long-time St. Louis tourist attraction, announces its website re-launch with award-winning digital agency, SteadyRain. Through this partnership, the Garden and SteadyRain present a memorable online experience, allowing all audiences that visit the Garden to feel as welcome online as they do in person.

SteadyRain was asked to bring a cohesive approach through content management to the Garden’s digital landscape after being selected as the most qualified candidate in a request for proposals selection process in early 2010. The scope of the project included redesigning the look of the website, installing the user-friendly content management system DotNetNuke (DNN), and developing custom DNN modules to better manage the flow of important site information.

One custom DNN module focused on the monthly events hosted by the Garden. The module was designed to filter and display events according to predetermined specifications such as location or audience. For example, only events at the Butterfly House would be displayed on the Butterfly House section of the website. Another innovation was the co-branding of off-site locations and other specialized portions of the website to define a clear the relationship to the Garden while maintaining a separate identity. Examples of this approach are the Butterfly House, Shaw Nature Reserve and “Just for Kids.”

“This is one of the most comprehensive and exciting projects I have worked on to date. It was more than a movement to a content managed environment; it was an opportunity to re-think and improve how the Garden is sharing information online with their varied audiences,” said Eric Baggett, Director of Online Marketing. “The combined efforts of both the Garden and SteadyRain teams resulted in a best-in-class web presence that improved content delivery and found exciting new ways to serve the website’s users. We are honored to play such an important role in a project of this caliber.”

As the result of an intensive review of the current website and several affiliated sites, SteadyRain and the Missouri Botanical Garden redesigned the website to feature enhanced navigation, spectacular digital imagery provided by the Garden, custom design and color palettes for each site segment and dynamic content relevant to the many organizations that reside under the Missouri Botanical Garden brand.
