CareSouth Health System Purchases Rutherford Polk McDowell Health District Home Health Agency
Augusta, GA, January 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- CareSouth Health System, Inc., today announced that it has purchased the home health agency of the Rutherford Polk McDowell (RPM) Health District. The transaction was finalized on December 31. The home health care agency is now doing business as CareSouth Homecare Professionals with locations in Marion, Spindale and Columbus, North Carolina.
“The RPM Health District has done an excellent job working with the community,” said Rick Griffin, CareSouth Chief Executive Officer and President. “We intend to maintain that community spirit while allowing for more growth and opportunities within the home health care field. With the current climate in healthcare, we are more excited than ever that we are able to expand CareSouth’s home health care services in North Carolina.”
Earlier in 2011, the company sold its California assets to focus on expansion in the Southeast, Southwest, Gulf Coast and Mid-Atlantic areas. CareSouth continues their strategy of expansion through internal growth and external acquisitions. In May, the company was granted certification by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for a home health care branch location in Milledgeville, Georgia. In July of that same year, CareSouth acquired Florida Palliative Home Care in Ocala, Florida. In August, the company formed an exclusive partnership with Low Vision Works to provide treatment for patients suffering from low vision disabilities and now provides those services as Low Vision Works by CareSouth in North Carolina and Texas. Prior to the acquisition of the RPM Home Health Agency in December of 2011, CareSouth purchased Family Care, Inc. of Richmond, Virginia, adding private duty to their line of business. The Virginia agency is doing business as Family Care, A CareSouth Company.
