New RFID Web Based Weapons Management Solution from SkyRFID Inc.
SkyRFID announces their new RFID enabled weapons, tactical gear and parts solution for small, large and multi site armories. Available with 2 stage secured access using RFID cards and Biometric Scanners, the armory is fully secured for all activities.
Cambridge, Canada, February 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- SkyRFID Inc. recently announced the availability of their new Multi Site Web Based Weapons Management Solution. This new solution uses RFID cards to access the facility and RFID tags to track weapons, parts and tactical gear. Since all armories are different, the solution has numerous security features and levels that range from static weapons monitoring to full RTLS with CCTV.
The Internet based software uses Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for communication security over the internet so authorized internet users can view reports and full details on all weapons in the system wherever they are. Locally at the armory “Check in” “Check out” workstations are used for inbound and outbound weapons and gear management. Weapons, parts and tactical gear can be stored in traditional steel racking and safes. Control can be limited to just monitoring of the actual checking in and out of weapons or enhanced to full blown RTLS for all racks and safes activated by motion sensors strategically located in the armory.
SkyRFID uses super small shelf antennas with powered antenna splitters (MUX) to provide the capability of multiple antennas on a single fixed reader port. With several MUX designs available you can monitor as many as 256 locations with a single port of a 4 port reader. Sensors are used to activate Zones automatically minimizing power and bandwidth requirements.
The software uses a graphical interface that is easily tailored to each armory physical setting providing visual data that can be drilled down to the lowest possible granularity at any time.
All armories have different requirements and the software is capable of meeting or exceeding those requirements through a set of Administrative Tools that support Notification Lists, Escalation Paths, Rules and Targets, Classifications, SMTP Configuration, Screen Configurations and Unlimited Reporting on Screen and Hard copy.
Various top level screen menu functions provide for ease of use with Graphical Views of each Location that can be easily used to locate any items within the armory. Enhanced search capabilities give quick access to needed data through user set filters. With user set security access levels data can also be easily exported from the system and emailed if and when needed, or exported to another application.
Checking items “in” and “out” is just a matter of displaying an access card near the RFID reader at the checkout workstation and then passing items over the same reader while visually observing each item as it’s checked out on the display screen. Once done they simply leave the armory without any attendant required.
When a desk station won’t provide the versatility needed for mass movement, hand held RFID interrogators are used to quickly read RFID Tags on weapons, ammunition and tactical gear. Door portals are also used for an additional automated “check in” “check out” to ensure no items are missed.
Inventory is easily taken with the hand held RFID readers and can be quickly matched by to the graphical locations on the computer workstation to determine if items are missing or simply misplaced in the wrong shelf, safe or rack.
Multiple levels of security enhancements can be added to fully eliminate the potential for missing items.
This web based solution can be securely hosted by SkyRFID for smaller Armories. Larger Armories will be locally supported by SkyRFID Authorized Partners providing the implementation, training and support.
