Breast Cancer Heroes Have a New Partner in the Fight to End Breast Cancer

Pink Promise, Inc. Vows to Fund Breast Cancer Research and Awareness Programs and be a Strong Support System for Cancer Heroes, Families, and Caregivers in Need.

Atlanta, GA, February 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In its 2011 report, the American Cancer Society (ACS) reported that women have a 1 in 8 chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime and men have a 1 in 1,000 chance of being diagnosed. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that in the year 2030, more than 13 million cancer-related deaths will occur worldwide. Men and women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer face an even greater challenge as rising healthcare costs, high deductibles, benefit caps, and limitations on coverage for people with preexisting conditions are obstacles in receiving necessary and timely treatment.

Pink Promise, Inc.'s objective is to support research initiatives designed to save lives and end breast cancer while supporting cancer heroes, their families, and caregivers. With the help of its network of corporate and individual sponsors, fundraising initiatives, and support programs, Pink Promise, Inc. will reach out to individuals in local communities who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and who need the most assistance. Pink Promise's assistance may include providing transportation to and from doctor appointments, financial assistance to help pay for medications or food, counseling, and other necessities.

Pink Promise, Inc. considers everyone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, or any type of cancer, as heroes. Their journey makes it possible for others to be strong, remain hopeful, and work hard to find a cure. LaShundria Dansby Smith, the cancer hero from where the name "Pink Promise" and its underlying mission originates, believed that everyone affected by cancer should have someone to love on them and support them. Until a cure is found, Pink Promise, Inc. will continue showing love and support to those in need.
