It's Geek-2-Me Launches Paperback Compilation of Popular Online Tech Cartoon in "Wish Your Mouth Had a Backspace Key"
Pittsburgh, PA, April 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Francis Cleetus, a Pittsburgh-based cartoonist and advertising creative director, presented his book "Wish Your Mouth had a Backspace Key," on Friday, March, 30, 2012 at the Toonseum on 945 Liberty Avenue, in downtown Pittsburgh. Guests had the opportunity to meet the author, join him in conversation with acclaimed cartoonist Joe Wos and take home a signed copy of the work.

"Wish Your Mouth Had a Backspace Key" is a compilation of some of the best cartoons Mr. Cleetus created for his, "It’s-geek-2-me," online tech cartoon at geek-2-me.com. The cartoon, chronicles the funny, quirky and unpredictable stories of an eclectic group of "techies," and has garnered a cult following from readers around the world thanks to its Facebook and Twitter fan pages, as well as the iPhone and iPad Apps at the Apple iTunes store.

Not coincidentally, the same technologies that have driven the increasing popularity of the tech cartoon provide the inspiration for much of its humor. "It’s-geek-2-me" centers on people and their off-center relationships with their computers, the Internet, smart phones, social networks, gaming devices, mp3 players, e-book readers, gps systems and other amazing technologies, all inspired by real-life events.

"Francis has found a way to hack into our collective funny bones and trigger some sort of laugh-out-loud (LOL) virus that spreads instantaneously as you share his cartoons with your friends," said Joe Wos, Executive Director, Toonseum.

"My tech cartoon is about these diverse characters who work at the fictional company, Paradox Software Corporation located in Pittsburgh, PA," said Mr. Cleetus, "While the strip is fictional, the inspiration for the characters and stories is based in real-life experiences I’ve had over the years and continue to have every day. It’s not a book only for geeks, however. Anyone who deals with everyday technologies can relate to the humor in this book."

According to Sean Ammirati, COO, ReadWriteWeb, "'Wish Your Mouth had a Backspace Key' is a truly original and funny compilation illustrating some of the more telling changes technology is catalyzing in each of our lives. It’s a perfect book to LOL at the memes of the day."

Mr. Cleetus added, "Though, I must admit that to strike a chord, 'It’s-geek-2-me' has taken a few whimsical liberties to generate some of those ‘LOLs.’ This work is my attempt to pay homage to the many interesting characters I’ve met in my own life and to honor their spirit for living in a time and age where technology touches virtually everything!"

"It's Geek-2-Me tech toons seem to be peopled with characters born of a liaison between a middle-aged Dilbert and a hot South-Asian techie!" observed Anuja Chauhan, Bestselling Author of The Zoya Factor and Battle for Bittora.

About Francis Cleetus
Francis started fiddling with computers at an early age. Years later, he started writing about them as a staff reporter for a tech magazine. Francis, who lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his family, has created hundreds of tech toons for geek-2-me.com and other publications. In addition to the new book, the online comic strip and iPhone/ iPad Apps, over 200 cartoon-based products are available at geek-2-me.com.
