Chicago, IL, June 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Broker/owner Basel Tarabein and sales associate Cindy Eich of RE/MAX At Home in Rolling Meadows, Ill., picked up key awards at the 35th annual RE/MAX awards ceremony. Eich was honored with the Humanitarian Award, while Tarabein earned the Alpha Tester Award.

Each year, the RE/MAX Northern Illinois awards ceremony honors affiliates who have achieved outstanding results in the areas of sales, service, philanthropy and technology.

The Humanitarian Award recognizes affiliates who have made outstanding contributions to their communities through philanthropic efforts. Eich was recognized for her work on behalf of homeless high school students.

Last year, Eich learned that more than 150 students in Township High School District 211, which serves Palatine and Schaumburg townships, had been identified as homeless during the past school year. She wanted to help them and encouraged Realtors® from RE/MAX and other real estate companies to join her efforts to end student homelessness. Her group, Realtors® Against Homelessness, raised $20,000 for the cause in 2011, and the organization plans to continue and expand its efforts to reach more students and schools in the future.

The Alpha Tester Award recognizes a RE/MAX affiliate who has played an important role in the alpha testing of a technology product that RE/MAX Northern Illinois has created and is launching for the benefit of its network of 110 offices and 2,000 agents.

Alpha Testers provide critical feedback to ensure that both the product and its launch are flawless and successful. In 2011, Tarabein carefully reviewed and tested a new and proprietary real estate technology product developed by RE/MAX Northern Illinois, providing valuable feedback that ensured a successful launch.

Tarabein was one of two RE/MAX associates honored for contributions made as alpha testers in 2011. Tarabein was also recognized for ranking third among teams in the RE/MAX Northern Illinois region for sales of commercial property in 2011. Each year RE/MAX recognizes its Top Three commercial teams and individuals. Achieving Top Three status is a significant accomplishment.
