About Valerie Reich

Valerie Reich is an Associate in Huron Healthcare’s Compliance & Investigations Practice. She has broad experience advising a variety of healthcare providers on regulatory compliance, government investigations and transactions. Prior to joining Huron, Valerie practiced as a health care transactional attorney in Chicago, Illinois, advising clients on regulatory compliance as well as assisting clients with government investigations.

Representative examples of Valerie’s engagement experience include, but are not limited to: conducting overall compliance effectiveness assessments for health systems, hospitals, clinical laboratories and third-party billing companies to determine the organization’s implementation of the seven elements of an effective compliance program and how those elements are effectuated; serving as a key team member in an ICD-10 work group having assisted major health systems with various ICD-10 initiatives including, training and education, payer readiness, systems readiness, and operational impacts; assisting clients with government settlements, drafting corporate integrity agreements and performing independent review organization services, including pre-IRO work and acting as the IRO; conducting HIPAA/HITECH compliance assessment and training for numerous health care providers.

Valerie is a member of the Illinois State Bar, Missouri State Bar and American Health Lawyers Association. She is also an associate board member and volunteer for the Coordinated Advice and Referral Program for Legal Services.
