About John F. May
John F. May is Lead Population Specialist with the World Bank. Dr. May's expertise in the Population analysis, demography, project management, population policies, family planning, population projections and HIV/Aids programs has earned him numerous awards including Good Practice ICR Quality Award for The Gambia HIV/AIDS Rapid Response Project Implementation Completion Report (ICR) and the Fred H. Bixby Foundation Visiting Scholarship at the Population Reference Bureau. He has written numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, conference papers, posters, abstracts and other publications. He is the Author of "World Population Policies: Their Origin, Evolution, and Impact." He has made major contributions to population policies and programs worldwide, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. May is a member of the Population Association of America and the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population. In his free time, Dr. May enjoys swimming, classical music, reading, cinema.
