Community Health Charities of the Southeast connects employees to health information, volunteer opportunities and the ability to give to Alabama's most trusted health charities. Free programs now available to Alabama employers include Health Matters at Work and Volunteer Matters 365.

Birmingham, AL, July 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- For Alabama companies looking for new ways to improve the health of their employees and support their community, Community Health Charities of the Southeast is the answer.

Free programs now available to Alabama employers include Health Matters at Work®, which provides 24/7 access to podcasts, webinars and other information from the nation’s most trusted health charities. The Volunteer Matters 365TM program offers companies a free, customized Volunteer Search Tool that allows employees to find volunteer opportunities by zip code. Community Health Charities of the Southeast also gives employees the ability to direct donations to the health charities of their choice through payroll deduction.

A native of Birmingham, Mr. Hawkins was recently appointed as Regional Director for Community Health Charities of the Southeast and has many years of experience in both the business and nonprofit world. He was a General Manager for Thiokol Chemical Corporation for 10 years and Regional Manager and Vice President for Wackenhut Corporation for two years. He was also Founder and President of Southeastern Training Corporation, which operated projects for the Federal Departments of Defense and Labor. He has served on the faculty and as a Dean at Hampton University for six years, and as Practicum Supervisor for the Counselor Education University Summer Education Program at Hofstra University for two years.

His vast Board experience includes the Georgia Black United Fund (where he also served as Executive Director), National Black United Fund, Our Giving Community, Fulton County Advisory Board, Metro Atlanta Respite & Developmental Services and Clayton County Health Alliance.
