Gotham City Films to Host Celebrity Fundraiser for Find A Dream

Gotham City Films will be hosting a celebrity fundraising dinner for Find A Dream at the W Hotel in Hollywood September 13.

Myrtle Beach, SC, August 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Gotham City Films has announced they will be hosting a celebrity cocktail party and dinner at the lavish W Hotel in Hollywood to help raise funds and spread awareness about the nonprofit organization Find A Dream.

On September 13, the penthouse at the W Hotel will be the scene of a private, intimate fundraiser in tribute of Olympic Gold Medalist and former heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer, three-time world champion Bobby Czyz and four-time world champion Michael Moorer, all Board Members of Find A Dream.

Find A Dream is a nonprofit organization geared towards creating a safe environment for children where they can learn boxing, music education or participate in computer and study programs.

Most recently they opened their newest facility in their home base of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, partnering with One Punch Fitness.

“It is an honor that Gotham City Films reached out and offered to help us spread our message about Find A Dream,” said Rod Ricciardi, founder of Find A Dream. “It is all about the kids, and the more continued support we get from foundations like Gotham City Films, the more we are able to expand our operations to different parts of the world.”

In addition to the cocktail party and dinner, the night is a call to action to the boxers’ fan base to get involved with the cause. Gotham City Films will have each guest talk on camera about how they can get involved and make a difference in the world, and then a commercial will be made to promote Find A Dream, which will then be distributed by Clear Channel.

“Our goal is to open up several other youth centers in varied cities across the country, and expand as much as we can on an international basis to help kids around the world,” said Ricciardi. “Recently we have been in talks about possibly expanding our operations overseas and opening up boxing camps in Europe. We continue to make progress on a daily basis and our goal is to make Find A Dream a household name in the near future.”

“What we’re trying to do is help kids of any age and bring a positive influence into their lives, through boxing and music to instill in them discipline and structure,” said Ricciardi. “Our impact is felt every time an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.”
