OperaSouth, Inc. was formed as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization during the last quarter of 2006 and with nine performance credits in its first six months, has since been relentless in its pursuit of new performance opportunities.
The company was formed by opera professionals from across the nation who have served in various decision making capacities with such opera companies as the Houston Grand Opera and the Virginia Opera, as well the local Capital City Opera and the Atlanta Opera.
OperaSouth, a regional company, has launched a touring program entitled The Opera Road Show and a recurrent restaurant series, Edible Opera. A season of grand operas and chamber works is planned for the near future.
