Samurai Karate Studio Organizes Fundraiser for Domestic Violence

Columbia, SC, October 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, recently announced his school is selling PINK BELTS for $25 for the month of October, to raise funds for a local women's shelter.

"October is national Domestic Violence awareness month," stated Feldt, "and we want to participate in not only spreading the word, but to raise some money for such a good cause."

SKS students can wear their pink belt throughout the month of October as a reminder that domestic violence is a real issue in South Carolina.

"Unfortunately, South Carolina ranks 6th in the nation in domestic violence," commented Feldt, "and 2nd in the nation in domestic violence murder! Domestic violence is a REAL issue in our state and if we all get involved and raise awareness, I am hoping we can protect the lives of more women in our state."

While this fundraiser is geared towards SKS students, the general public is invited to stop by Samurai Karate and donate and collect their pink belt.

Samurai Karate Studio teaches karate to children and adults, with a unique emphasis on character development and life skills.
