Hosting Spot Inc. Announces Acquisition of HostingSpot.com Domain Name

PR.com)-- Hosting Spot Inc. (HostingSpot.net), a leading provider of web hosting and design services for small- and medium-sized companies, announced today their acquisition of the HostingSpot.com domain name for an undisclosed sum.
"We have been working on this acquisition for nearly two years and are thrilled that we have come to terms with the previous owner of the HostingSpot.com domain name," said Jonathan Meersman, President & CEO of Hosting Spot Inc. "As an Internet presence provider we initially launched our brand as HostingSpot.net. The .net extension is certainly appropriate for our company, however, we know that many people instinctively type .com whenever looking for a web site. Both domain names will now point to the same web site, which will help minimize confusion for our customers."
HostingSpot.com was previously owned by a company in The Netherlands. It was setup as a portal site that redirected individuals to other web sites related to the web hosting industry. This caused confusion for many potential customers of Hosting Spot Inc. The transfer was successfully completed earlier this week.
"After coming to agreeable terms, we handled the purchase and transfer of the domain name through Network Solutions Certified Offer Service," Meersman stated. "This allowed a reputable third party to act as an escrow agent to protect both parties."
