EMR Stat places patients’ Essential Medical Information on secure servers available 24/7 using patients’ unique username and password. Patients are issued an ID card with their unique username and password along with their allergies and blood type.
Essential Medical Information is that information necessary for an emergency room physician to effectively treat a patient such as current medications and conditions.
EMR Stat’s secure servers also house patients’ insurance coverage and emergency contacts. Patients may include physicians they wish to provide access to their essential medical information. Patients and/or family doctors can update information when needed.
Patients are also issued a USB portable drive with their Essential Medical Information included on it. This information is provided in a dated, printer friendly format.
According to the Institute of Medicine’s report on medical errors, 44,000 to 98,000 people die each year from medical errors. According to the IOM, medical errors are now the fifth leading cause of death in the United States.
Pharmacopeia conducted a similar study which stated that medical errors result in 195,000 deaths per year.
Other studies have shown that injuries resulting from medical errors total more than 500,000 per year.
EMR Stat plans to expand nationwide through a network of Healthcare Consultants who invest a small fee and actually own a piece of EMR Stat. These consultants are eligible for the company’s insurance plan after completion of the initial requirements of the position.
