Access Self Storage Celebrates Television Appearance with Charitable Party

Lancaster, Texas,-based Access Self Storage turned their recent brush with celebrity into an opportunity to donate toys and funding to the Lancaster Outreach Center.

Lancaster, TX, January 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A&E’s hit television spinoff Storage Wars: Texas filmed at locally owned Access Self Storage in August and the footage aired just a few weeks ago. Not one to pass up the opportunity for a fiesta, Access celebrated in true celebrity style - with two neighborhood watch parties.

Viewings of Access’ premier episode took place across the metroplex, with one projected on the wall of Bienvenidos Restaurant & Cantina in Lancaster, hosted by Access Self Storage owners Doug and David Hunt, and one in North Dallas, hosted by Marketing Director Jennifer Hunt. Tenants and friends from all six Access facilities turned out to enjoy fun and laughter surrounded by delicious Fresh Mex cuisine. When this particular party was in the planning phases, however, owner Doug Hunt saw more than simply an opportunity for a fun evening.

“We decided we could take a big success for us and use it to help out our community,” Hunt remembers. Access chose to give back by asking partiers to bring a a new toy to the festivities. The toys (along with a $5-per-toy donation made by Access) were then delivered to the Lancaster Outreach Center to be distributed to children in need this Christmas.

Party goers were also thrilled to have the opportunity to spend time with Storage Wars: Texas auctioneer Walt Cade, who made the trip to attend the watch party. Many a Facebook profile picture was taken.
