Hear the Sirens Roar: BFP Firefighters Underwent Training to Operate PH Government’s Rosenbauer-MAN Fire Trucks

Quezon City, Philippines, January 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The government has taken one step closer towards being better prepared at handling disasters as 26 veteran firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection went under training on how to properly operate PH government’s newly purchased Rosenbauer – MAN fire trucks.

The 26 fire fighters belong to the first batch of four groups.

The 5-day training program started with comprehensive lectures and discussions on the basics of operating a fire truck within the MACC head office in Bahay Toro, Quezon City. Mr. Desmond Si Thiam Teng, Regional Service and Commissioning Engineer from Rosenbauer International AG, provided the training for operating the equipment. Mr. Julian Osorio Jr. from MACC trained the drivers on how to effectively drive the fire truck’s MAN TGM 18.240 unit. The training also included operational equipment and road tests by the Marikina River.

Based in Leonding, Austria, the Rosenbauer Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of firefighting equipment. The company supplies firefighting gear to more than 100 fire fighting units all over the world.

MAN Truck & Bus AG, the provider of the fire truck’s engine and body, is one of the leading international suppliers of commercial and transport solutions. Based in Munich, Germany, MAN is a company that focuses on efficiency and innovation. Here in the Philippines, MAN is exclusively represented by MAN Automotives Concessionaires Corporation. MACC will handle the maintenance of the fire trucks.
