Sheehan Personal Training Now Adding BioPhotonic Laser Scanning to Their Services

Sheehan Personal Training has partnered with Pharmanex Corporation to utilize the state of the art BioPhotonic Laser Scanner. The scanner will measure a person's skin carotenoid (antioxidant) level and allow Sheehan to make supplement recommendations based on the score that their clients receive from the 90 second laser scan.

Mansfield, MA, March 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- “The recent study showing that skin carotenoids can be indicative of oxidative stress in the body is an important advance in antioxidant research and may potentially be the most important discovery with the Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner. These findings should encourage consumers to know their score and increase their consumption of more fruits and vegetables while continuing to supplement.” -Lester Packer, Ph.D., The world’s foremost antioxidant research scientist.

At Sheehan Personal Training they are proud to announce that the Pharmanex Antioxidant Laser Scanner will now be a part of the services they offer to address overall health care. Knowing your antioxidant level is as important as knowing your cholesterol levels, or your blood pressure. Current medical literature suggests that antioxidants can decrease your risk of cancer, heart disease, and complications related to diabetes.

“We have tried for years to find a reputable company to partner with in the area of supplementation, and we are confident we have found one in Pharmanex,” said Tom Sheehan.

Because of the lack of regulation in the supplement industry, many companies are selling products that have been produced synthetically with very little oversight of their practices. Pharmanex has strict internal standards and utilizes a 6 step process to ensure that all raw material used to produce their supplements are free from contaminants. They do double blind, randomized clinical studies on their products, and also participate in voluntary certification through Consumer Labs and the National Safety Foundation.

Pharmanex uses Nobel prize winning technology called Resonance Raman Spectroscopy to identify and measure the unique molecular structure of carotenoids, allowing their measurement without interference by other molecular substances and providing the person being measured with a Skin Carotenoid Score. Many factors can influence this score including diet, supplementation, body fat, lifestyle, and genes. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans do not get the necessary amount of servings of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, and thus suffer from low antioxidant levels which lead to the higher risk of major diseases, especially cancer.

Sheehan Personal Training is proud to display the fact that Pharmanex was a recipient of a 2005 American Business Award for Most Innovative Company in recognition of the BioPhotonic Scanner. The Scanner also received the product merit award by the prestigious Nutrition Business Journal.

Sheehan Personal Training will now be incorporating the scan into its already comprehensive fitness assessment, and recommended supplementation will accompany all nutrition plans developed by the firm.

Scheduling a scan is as easy as visiting the Sheehan Personal Training website and booking one online.
