Teens are being sponsored to attend Spring Into Action and Fashion to raise money for the high schools that have cancelled Prom due to Hurricane Sandy. O2 MAX Fitness and Operation Prom have teamed up to teach fitness and fashion tips as Prom season begins.

Teens that would not have gone to Prom this year due to Hurricane Sandy are now getting fit and fashionable with O2 MAX Fitness and Operation Prom at the first annual Spring Into Action And Fashion. People across the nation are sending teens to learn about health and fashion tips for $30 to kick-off Prom season.

Hosted by Miss Westchester 2012 and featuring Miss Teen Latina International USA 2013, this afternoon event will have activities centered around nutrition, fashion, and fitness. Teens will be able to sample the latest healthy food products, learn the latest beauty tricks from pageant girls, and work out to Zumba! This event is free for anyone attending Prom. Parents, friends, business leaders, gym fanatics and more are sponsoring a teen girl affected by the devastation of Hurricane SandyFor a tax-deductible donation of $30, sponsors across the nation are donating for teens who go to schools like Channel View High School be able to experience their last dance.

“As teens have been applying through Operation Prom to earn free Prom dresses I am happy to see how many are checking off ‘Prom Health’ as one way to get ready for Prom,” said Karen Jashinsky, CEO & Founder of O2 MAX Fitness, “Teens today are more aware of the importance of exercising and eating right than the trends we have seen in the past of not eating or over-exercising to get ready for this big event. Spring Into Action And Fashion is the kick-off to this healthy lifestyle for Prom.”

Spring Into Action And Fashion will take place Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 1-4pm at Sarah Lawrence College. This event will have a raffle and auction for attendees to participate with proceeds helping low-income students afford Prom, especially students affected by Hurricane Sandy. Current sponsors include Chobani, MacroLife Naturals and PopChips.

“Operation Prom has already kicked off our dress donation drive and we will be continuing to accept gently-used dresses at Spring Into Action And Fashion,” said Noel D’Allacco, Founder & CEO of Operation Prom, “We have already raised over $6,000 for Channel View High School and hope to raise even more money so that more teens can attend Prom this year.”

The host, Miss Westchester 2012 never went to Prom and is excited to give back to her community so that her fellow teens can experience it.
