About Martin E. Boehling
Mr. Boehling has over 50 years experience in the entertainment field. He is a self-employed Organist and Pianist in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Mr. Boehling performs, consults and has built 7 pipe organs. He is an eclectic organist and pianist and has performed at the Beacon Theatre and Radio City Music Hall in New York. Mr. Boehling serves as a Worship Leader with a local church. He is affiliated with the American Theatre Organ Society. In 1970, Mr. Boehling built a 1-manual 5-rank pipe organ for the Chorale, which was used in Carnegie Hall. It was placed between the “Double Chorus”. He obtained a M.A. in Musicology from Western College in Connecticut in 1984. Mr. Boehling is especially proud of the critique he received from Allen Hughes of the New York Times when he reviewed a performance which included Mr. Boehling playing one of the pipe organs which he built. This rough critic included the following statement: “A particular orchestral delight was a small Boehling organ, played by Martin Boehling, which added silvery brilliance to the ensemble when required.” In his spare time he enjoys model trains and baseball.
