The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a late December notice regarding amendments to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in an attempt to provide better privacy & protection for children online.

The amendments, which are likely to have a major impact on websites and online services operators, highlights the need to obtain verifiable parental consent before gathering data and information from children under 13.
